How to access CAMHS support
Getting Referred to CAMHS
If you would like to access support from CAMHS, referrals must be made by a professional who knows the child or young person, such as a GP, school staff member, social worker, or another health or care professional.
CAMHS does not accept self-referrals.
If you feel support may be needed, please speak to an appropriate professional who can make a referral on your behalf.
If you would like advice about the help and support available, please contact our team on 01908 724228.
If you are an existing CAMHS patient, please call 01908 724544. When calling, please listen carefully to all the available options to ensure you are directed to the correct team.
GPs and primary care staff
All CAMHS referrals from GPs must be submitted via e-Referrals on SystmOne.
Professionals
Healthcare professionals (school staff, social care etc.) can make a referral via an online referral form.
If you need help accessing the online referral form, please refer to this guidance.
ADHD Referral information:
If you are a professional making a referral for an ADHD assessment, please ensure that both the Parent / Carer and Child Screening Pack and the School Screening Pack are fully completed and submitted alongside the referral.
These documents are essential for the referral to be accepted. Referrals that do not include both completed packs will be declined and returned to the referrer. You can download the required packs below:
