A cohort of colleagues from across Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL), have successfully completed the Quality Coach Development Programme, marking a continued investment in building improvement capability across the Trust.
This fourth cohort brought together participants from each division, reflecting a collective commitment to strengthening a culture of continuous improvement. The programme, which began in January and concluded on 2 April, consisted of six sessions designed to develop both the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching for improvement.
Across the sessions, participants explored a range of topics, from coaching theory to hands-on coaching techniques, alongside core quality improvement principles and methodologies. The programme focused on equipping participants with the skills and confidence to support teams to test changes, use structured improvement approaches, and embed learning in practice.
Chika Onwuegbusi, Health Care Assistant for Pond Ward said:
"The facilitators were exceptionally informative and educative throughout, bringing their expertise to life through a rich blend of active learning methods — including coaching circles, teachback sessions, case studies, and facilitated reflection. I wholeheartedly recommend this programme to all healthcare professionals committed to making a lasting difference."
100% of participants positively rated their overall training experience, with 9 graduates committing to using one or more QI tools in their daily work and to coach or co-coach a QI project. They will help strengthen CNWL’s overall improvement capacity and enable teams to deliver meaningful, sustained improvements in their services.
Ash Bharathan, Head of Quality Governance for Goodall reflected:
"I really enjoyed participating in the QI coaching programme. It struck a great balance between theory, developing practical skills and networking to build a community of likeminded colleagues. As a result, I feel I have grown significantly in my confidence to coach QI project teams, and it has also energised me to also identify opportunities for QI projects within my division as part of my role."
Congratulations to all those who took part in the programme and contributed to its success. Their ongoing work will play an important role in embedding improvement across the organisation.
Watch out for further cohorts of the Quality Coach Development Programme later in the year, and access all other QI training here.
