The Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) Young Adult Ambassadors enjoyed an inspiring and productive away day on 8 April.

The group brought fresh ideas and energy, combining focused service‑development work with a new adventurous challenge. Between discussions on service improvements, the Ambassadors took on bouldering at Euston Wall. A brilliant example of how teamwork and encouragement can help everyone push beyond their comfort zone.

Having recently been awarded £1,000 from the Executive Team for their exceptional work, part of the day was dedicated to brainstorming how best to use the funding to strengthen the Ambassador programme, the Young Adult Peer Support Service, and Discovery College.

The group also held important conversations about long‑term improvements they would like to see across Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Adult Community Mental Health Services, giving them a direct role in shaping future support for young people.

The day was full of connection, innovation and adventure. A reflection of the growing impact of the Young Adult Ambassadors.

One Ambassador said:
“I feel like the day made me come out of my comfort zone, and it’s making me not only have confidence to start doing things I already enjoy but also to start trying new things. The team also made me feel comfortable and supported.”

If you know a young adult aged 16–25 with experience of using CNWL mental health services, we would love to hear from them. Ambassadors are compensated for their time, can connect with other amazing young people, and have the chance to see their ideas turned into meaningful change.
