On Saturday 18 July, Harrow Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) held its annual garden project, bringing together young people, colleagues and community members to care for the service's much-loved outdoor space.

The project was supported once again by CNWL NHS Health Charity and W6 Garden Centre, whose continued partnership helped provide funding, plants and expert advice for this year's garden refresh.

Giving up their Saturday morning, young people and colleagues worked side by side to replant flower beds, add colourful new plants and tidy the garden, helping ensure it remains a welcoming space for children, young people and their families. The garden offers a peaceful environment where visitors can spend time outdoors, connect with nature and enjoy a moment of calm while attending the service.

The project was led by Sonya Lewin, Participation Lead, and Laraib Siddique, Participation Co-Lead, alongside colleagues from the Harrow CAMHS team, with plenty of encouragement from Bobby, the team's much-loved four-legged visitor.

Sonya said:

"The garden has been part of Harrow CAMHS for more than 10 years, and it's wonderful to see it refreshed each summer. It's a space where young people and families can spend time outdoors, connect with nature and enjoy a calmer environment when visiting the service.

We're incredibly grateful to CNWL NHS Health Charity and W6 Garden Centre for helping us ensure it continues to thrive for everyone who uses the service. Their continued support means we can keep this special space looking its best throughout the year."

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to take part in this year's project. The enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment shown by colleagues and young people helped ensure the garden is ready to be enjoyed throughout the year.

Projects like this demonstrate the positive impact of partnership working and participation, creating welcoming environments that support the wellbeing of the children, young people and families who use our services.
