Pitch Perfect is CNWL's innovation programme, bringing together teams to turn ideas into practical projects that improve patient care and staff experience. Launched last year, the programme has funded a wide range of initiatives that address challenges across the NHS, helping teams develop creative solutions that make a real difference.
The programme recently celebrated the success of several funded projects at a special event, showcasing just a selection of the many initiatives delivered through Pitch Perfect funding.

The event was opened by Claire Murdoch, Chief Executive Officer and Tom Shearer, Chief Financial Officer, who reflected on how Pitch Perfect was created and encouraged colleagues to continue sharing innovative ideas that can improve patient experiences.

Throughout the celebration, project teams shared how they used their funding to bring their ideas to life, highlighting the impact their work has already had across services. Following presentations and words of thanks, attendees came together to celebrate over tea, coffee and cake.

One inspiring example was a project that introduced point-of-care HbA1c testing for the Camden Community Diabetes Service. Previously, many patients attended appointments without an up-to-date HbA1c result, leading to delayed treatment decisions, rescheduled appointments and unnecessary follow-up visits. With Pitch Perfect funding, the team introduced two point-of-care HbA1c analysers, allowing patients to receive their results during the same appointment. This has enabled faster, more personalised treatment, improved patient involvement in care, reduced delays and increased service efficiency. During the nine-week pilot, 97.5% of patients said they would recommend the service, with both patients and staff reporting a positive experience.
