Residents were able to access a range of health and wellbeing support in one place when our New Beginnings team joined forces with local partners for a community wellbeing day at Willesden Health Centre.

People could drop in for tuberculosis (TB) screening, sexual health advice and testing, stop smoking support, liver health checks, information on blood-borne viruses, needle exchange services and recovery support. Teams were on hand throughout the day to offer advice and help people find the support they needed.

The event was a great example of neighbourhood working, bringing together different organisations under one roof to make it easier for people to access support. 

New Beginnings is an integrated service that supports people who want help with alcohol or drug use and works closely with prescribers, counsellors, recovery workers and peer support practitioners.

Each organisation played an important role in the day. Our Trust provided clinical expertise, Via brought specialist knowledge and frontline experience, B3 helped strengthen community connections and Brent Council supported the event through its public health work.
