These governors represent the interests of Trust staff members to the Council of Governors.

I am honoured to have been elected to the team of staff governors.
I have always believed that teamwork is more powerful than individual effort in being a driving force for positive change. It has always been an aspiration of mine to help others having been inspired myself by my mother, after losing my father at a very young age.
I was brought up in a well educated family from Pakistan. Since coming to the UK I have been actively involved in charitable work and social activism on a grassroots level.
I have a wealth of experience in both medicine and team management, and shall use the skills I have harnessed to make improvements within the trust. My aim is to focus on bringing about better working and social environments that will improve staff and patient experiences

I moved to prison services in 2016, where I gained so much knowledge about nursing in Health and Justice. I had the opportunity to work collaboratively with partner agencies and to support and mentor staff working in a hostile but rewarding environment. In 2020, I moved to Surrey Prisons and worked at HMP Highdown as a Mental Health Service Manager, where I helped shape the services to meet the changing needs of patients.
In 2022, I took up my current role as Head of Healthcare at HMP Downview, a female prison in Surrey. I enjoy what I do and recommend anyone who wants to be challenged to come and work in Health and Justice. I have worked with great people, great mentors, excellent leaders and people who truly want patients to be at the heart of what we do.

Since April 2022 I have undertaken the role of a Named Professional for Adult Safeguarding and MCA in Jameson Division of CNWLN. I have been working for many years in partnership with Adults, Children, Education, Fire and Police Services, Safeguarding Boards, ICS/ICB, local NHS trusts, as well as with charities and service users in implementing strategies and quality assurance to improve safeguarding outcomes.
