We're committed to supporting our trainers and recognise that well-supported and enabled trainers are key to the learning experience.

All our Educational, Clinical and Psychiatric Supervisors are formally recognised by the GMC as approved trainers. They are required to completed formal training to practise as a supervisor. CNWL has a programme of workshops throughout the year to develop our faculty, including one day educational/clinical supervisor training for those new to supervision or reaccrediting as a supervisor. The training covers all domains of NHSE’s Professional Development Framework.

As part of our quality assurance process and dedication to trainer development, trainers in CNWL must undertake a three yearly educational appraisal. This is where developmental needs are discussed and plans put in place for trainers to develop their supervisory skills further.
