ARCH Hillingdon is a free and confidential drug and alcohol service for people living in Hillingdon.
We support adults who are worried about their alcohol or drug use and would like help to make a change. This could be reducing their use, stopping completely or simply speaking to someone about what support is available.
We also have a dedicated Young People’s Service, which provides drug and alcohol support for young people in Hillingdon.
Our team will work with you to understand what support you need and agree a treatment plan with you.
What we offer
We offer a range of support, including:
- One-to-one support
- Clinical and nursing support
- Support to reduce or stop alcohol or drug use
- Detox and residential rehabilitation referrals
- Harm reduction advice
- Naloxone
- Blood-borne virus (BBV) testing and treatment, including Hepatitis C
- Group work and recovery activities
- Peer and lived experience support
- Support with housing, physical health and mental health
- Support for people who are homeless or rough sleeping
- Support for people involved with the criminal justice system
- Outreach support for people who may find it difficult to come into the service
- IPS, education, training and employment support, including help with finding paid work, courses, training and volunteering opportunities
Recovery Day Programme
We offer a 12-week Recovery Day Programme for people who want abstinence-based support.
The programme provides structured group support to help people understand their addiction, build confidence, develop skills to support their recovery and work towards living without drugs or alcohol.
Support for young people
We also have a dedicated Young People’s Service for young people in Hillingdon who need support around their drug or alcohol use.
Our Young People’s team provides support that is suited to the needs and circumstances of each young person.
Support for families and carers
We understand that drug and alcohol use can also affect family members, friends and carers. Support and advice are available to help families and carers understand what is happening and look after their own wellbeing.
Hillingdon Stop Smoking Service
The Hillingdon Stop Smoking Service is also based at ARCH Hillingdon.
The team provides free advice and support for people who would like to stop smoking.
How to get support
You can contact ARCH Hillingdon directly if you are worried about your own drug or alcohol use. We also accept referrals from professionals and other services.
Our team will talk to you about what is happening, what you would like help with and the support we can offer.
Arch is a free and confidential service for young people and adults who live or are registered with a GP in Hillingdon.
The service includes:
- Assessment and individual personal recovery plans
- Advice and information on reducing harm
- Needle exchange
- Smoking cessation
- Specialist psychosocial interventions
- Specialist pharmacological treatments for help with drug and alcohol problems (to manage withdraw cravings etc)
- Specialist detoxification programmes to manage withdrawal symptoms and safely wean you off drugs and alcohol
- One-to-one and group therapies aimed at getting to the core of the problem, coming up with ways to deal with cravings and avoid repeating past mistakes
- Motivation and support from those that have previously had problems with alcohol or drugs and who have successfully overcome them
- Group activities and social networks, including men and women’s groups, relapse prevention and life skills advice
- Joint working with employment agencies, training providers and housing associations to help
you get back on track - Evening and weekend social drop-in and activities with the opportunity to volunteer and build new social networks to help your recovery.
